I decided not to do the silverlight contest.
I’d have to buy art even for a simple game, unless I was willing to tolerate complete crap. And unlike a longer term project, there isn’t a chance of getting an artist later to ‘pretty it up’.
An option to consider is http://lostgarden.com/2007/05/dancs-miraculously-flexible-game.html. The images are decent and might prove nice in a game, depending on what you are doing of course.
I debated about doing that…the problem is it has to be ’sports themed’ and places like LostGarden and other sites with ‘free images’ tend to be more of the generic/fantasy/sci-fi variety. I couldn’t find legitimate sports images and I decided against the whole stick figure thing (’cause it would like complete crap).
